The Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (JROTC) is a strong program that provides our youth with needed skills in citizenship, leadership, character and community service. Additionally, numerous studies have shown that students who participate in JROTC high school programs have better attendance, better grades, and graduation rates are higher relative to students who are in general academic courses. The JROTC Program also helps prepare students for the challenges of daily life whether they choose to go straight into the workforce or decide to attend college. Principals and school administrators also maintain positive attitudes toward JROTC cadets because of the values taught within the program, such as:
1) Motivates students to learn
2) Fosters a disciplined and constructive learning environment
3) Instills essential skills like time organization, responsibility, goal setting, and teamwork
4) Teaches leadership in a military type environment.
Additionally:
There Is No Military Obligation for JROTC Cadets
JROTC Teaches Life Skills and Leadership
